From the Heart of Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence — In Memory of Nick Ashford
“It was such an honor to perform on the same stage with Ashford and Simpson at the Sunset Junction several years ago. I’ll always remember that night. It was special for me. I always loved and admired them over the years, not only for their tremendous talent, but for their endearing and loving relationship. Now, Nick has gone on to Glory. But, greatness never dies. His music and lyrics will last a lifetime and beyond. I pray for his wife, Valerie, and their two daughters, and ask that God will give them strength and comfort during this tremendous time of pain and loss.”
— Scherrie Payne
“Before I joined the Motown Family, before I recorded ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’, there was Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. What a powerhouse of a duo! Their musical talents and creative work speaks volumes about their musical abilities. They are timeless. I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant ‘Sugar Shack’ in NYC. It too was indicative of Nick and Valerie — classy, and the food was simply delicious! He is already missed…”

From the Desk of Scherrie Payne — “The Final Sessions” CD
“Hi Everyone, just an update on the ‘Final Sessions’ CD. I went to the Art Direction studio last week. I was blown away by photos I had never seen before. I kept saying, over and over, ‘Wow!’ It brought back warm memories of the greatest moments of my life! My Supremes’ years!! Sometimes I forget that I was part of a group that was internationally-acclaimed all over the world. As you already know, only 9 ladies can make that claim: Diana, Mary, Florence, Barbara, Cindy, Jean, Lynda, Susaye, and, me… Again, Wow!! My Supremes’ sisters!”
“Only 5,000 CDs will be printed and sold. The cover is absolutely stunning! I have to give my special thanks to Mary Wilson, who gave me that tremendous opportunity to become a member of this legendary, iconic group more than 37 years ago. Long after I’m gone, my daughter, Shoshana, and grandson, Shaun, will be able to reflect back on that magical era of Motown and be proud. Their mother/grandmother was there. Yes! I was there! The Supremes’ music will forever play on…”

From the Desk of Scherrie Payne — Welcoming Joyce Vincent
“I’d like to welcome with open arms our newest member, my dear and longtime friend, Joyce Vincent, Formerly of Tony Orlando and Dawn. Joyce and I have been friends since 1968, having met in Detroit when we were both with Invictus Records. Wow! Has it been that long? I know she’s going to be dynamic; she has so much vocal talent, poise and professionalism to bring to the stage. And she’s beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.”
“For 13 fun-filled years, Freddi Poole shared the spotlight with Lynda and me. Freddie’s a dynamic performer who always gave more than 100% on the stage. No one can do ‘Respect’ or ‘I Will Survive’ like Freddi. We had many deep and wonderful conversations and more often than not, did a lot of laughing. I know Freddi has so many wonderful projects and ventures on her plate now and I wish the very best of God’s blessings upon her.”
